DANGEROUS | Fit to Lead — Institutional Training & Licensing

EQUIP YOUR CHURCH TO CONFRONT DOMESTIC ABUSE

A Complete, Christ-Centered Batterer Intervention Ministry

The Church has a responsibility to confront evil, protect the vulnerable, and call sinners to repentance. But is your church equipped to confront domestic abuse?

Domestic abuse is not simply a marriage problem. It is not an anger problem. And it cannot be corrected through another communication workshop, marriage seminar, or a few sessions of pastoral counseling.

Abuse is about power and control.

Control is not headship. Remorse is not repentance. Forgiveness is not restoration.

Churches and ordained pastors occupy a unique position to confront abusive conduct through biblical teaching, meaningful accountability, and structured intervention without compromising the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

DANGEROUS | Fit to Lead was developed by Cross Strength Ministries to equip churches, pastors, Christian counselors, and ministries to establish comprehensive, Scripture-saturated batterer intervention programs in their own communities.

We don’t simply provide the curriculum. We equip you to implement the ministry.

MORE THAN A CURRICULUM. A COMPLETE IMPLEMENTATION SYSTEM.

Our Institutional Ministry Implementation Package includes five comprehensive instructional and administrative resources.

1. THE ADMINISTRATION PACKET

The operational foundation for managing a structured batterer intervention program.

Resources include:

  • Participant application, intake, interview, and screening documents.
  • Danger Assessment procedures and victim-safety protocols.
  • Participant suitability and background-information documentation.
  • Guidance for locating, requesting, reviewing, and documenting available court records.
  • Responsibility Plans and participant accountability documents.
  • Participant acceptance, dismissal, and program correspondence templates.
  • Attendance, reporting, and progress-monitoring forms.
  • Victim information and resource packets.
  • Administrative records, internal procedures, and program-management documents.

The Administration Packet equips ministry personnel to establish consistent procedures, maintain appropriate records, and respond responsibly to participants and those affected by abuse.

Victim information, safety assessments, and confidential records must be handled separately and securely.

2. THE ORIENTATION PACKET

A comprehensive guide to program operation, participant expectations, and accountability.

This packet includes program rules and regulations, course mapping, orientation procedures, participation expectations, behavioral standards, financial agreements, and relevant policies.

Participants are introduced to the responsibilities and expectations of intervention before entering the instructional process.

Completion is not simply a matter of attendance. Participants must demonstrate the work required to advance through the curriculum.

3. THE REPRODUCIBLE PARTICIPANT PACKET

The complete DANGEROUS | Fit to Lead 28-session intervention curriculum.

Under the institutional licensing agreement, the purchasing organization receives permission to reproduce Participant Packets for its own enrolled participants.

This allows an established ministry to continue serving successive groups without purchasing a new curriculum license for every participant.

The curriculum confronts:

  • Coercive control, domination, and entitlement.
  • Physical, psychological, verbal, financial, sexual, and spiritual abuse.
  • Manipulation, intimidation, and blame-shifting.
  • Biblical responsibility, repentance, and accountability.
  • The difference between genuine spiritual transformation and outward religious performance.

Twenty-eight required sessions. Individual accountability. Scripture-saturated instruction.

4. THE FACILITATOR PACKET

Each trained facilitator receives one individually assigned, non-reproducible Facilitator Packet.

This resource provides the instructional guidance, discussion material, session preparation, and facilitator direction needed to teach the curriculum.

Facilitator Packets may not be copied, distributed, sublicensed, or reproduced for untrained personnel.

Our standard five-person launch package includes five designated Facilitator Packets. Additional trained facilitators require their own authorized copies.

5. REQUIRED DEVOTIONAL — DANGEROUS: A 40-DAY MEN’S DEVOTIONAL

DANGEROUS: A 40-Day Men’s Devotional, authored by Pastor David Ashley, is a required instructional resource for the DANGEROUS | Fit to Lead Batterer Intervention Program.

Every trained facilitator and every enrolled participant must have an individual copy.

The standard Institutional Ministry Implementation Package includes ten physical copies of the devotional.

The devotional is copyrighted and non-reproducible. Permission to reproduce the Participant Packet does not extend to the devotional.

Additional copies must be purchased for subsequent participants. Churches and ministries should include the cost of each required devotional in their participant materials fee.

BEFORE WE ARRIVE, THE WORK HAS ALREADY BEGUN.

Customized Ministry Preparation and Local Resource Development

Every community is different. We do not believe responsible intervention begins with a generic packet and a handshake.

Before your workshop, Cross Strength Ministries will conduct advance preparation specific to your organization and geographical service area.

This work includes:

  • An initial organizational consultation and implementation review.
  • Preparation and organization of training materials.
  • Research into local victim-advocacy and community services.
  • Identification of relevant emergency contacts, shelters, legal assistance, and support resources.
  • Research into available court-record access and retrieval procedures.
  • Development of a community-specific resource appendix for your training materials.
  • Coordination of the workshop agenda, materials, and training requirements.

Every facility training includes a customized Local Resource Appendix, designed to help facilitators identify appropriate resources within the communities they serve.

You’re not just receiving the tools to conduct classes. You’re receiving the preparation and guidance needed to begin organizing the ministry responsibly.

THE MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY: BIBLICAL IMPACT AND FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

Churches invest substantial resources in marriage seminars, counseling, family ministries, and community outreach.

But how many have a structured ministry specifically prepared to confront abusive conduct?

DANGEROUS | Fit to Lead provides an opportunity to establish an ongoing intervention ministry with trained leadership, comprehensive administrative resources, and a repeatable participant curriculum.

It can also become financially sustainable.

Organizations may charge participant tuition to support program operations, subject to their own financial policies and agreements.

For illustration, if an organization charges $1,250 in total participant tuition for the 28-session curriculum:

Participants completing and payingGross tuition
6$7,500
8$10,000
10$12,500

These figures represent gross tuition, not profit. Staffing, facilities, materials, administration, enrollment levels, scholarships, and other operating expenses affect actual financial performance. Enrollment and revenue are not guaranteed.

But the opportunity deserves consideration: a ministry that confronts abuse, serves the community, and may help recover its own operating costs.

And the greatest return cannot be measured in dollars.

It is a church better equipped to protect the vulnerable, challenge abusive behavior, exercise biblical leadership, and proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ.

BRING DANGEROUS | FIT TO LEAD TO YOUR CHURCH

The Church cannot afford to treat domestic abuse as somebody else’s problem.

And it certainly cannot afford to confuse spiritual leadership with control, forgiveness with reconciliation, or religious activity with regeneration.

No theory, curriculum, or program can change a sinful heart. That work belongs to the Holy Spirit.

But we are responsible to proclaim God’s Word, confront sin, hold men accountable, defend the oppressed, and faithfully equip the Church.

Your community needs churches willing to do more than talk about the problem.
